Treatments
As a skilled practitioner of several different modalities, Christine chooses individual aspects from each to create the combination that best suits her patient. This innovative approach to healing can be of great benefit both to those who have had little success with alternative medicine in the past and to those who are new to eastern medicine practices on a whole.
Depending on your needs, conditions and comfort level, each visit will likely include one or more of the following modalities:

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a Chinese healing art that has been used to manage health and promote healing for over 3,000 years. Although it is sometimes referred to as an “alternative medicine,” acupuncture is recognized as a primary health care system in countries throughout the world.
The basic procedure is simple and painless: acupuncturists insert thin stainless steel needles into specific points in the body to harmonize energetic imbalances and stimulate the body’s natural healing response. For best results, acupuncture is often used in conjunction with medicinal herbs, as well as massage, heat therapy, diet adjustments and exercise. |

Cupping and Gua Sha
Cupping uses small glass cups to create suction along the back and shoulders to increase blood flow and remove toxins. The process is relatively simple: Christine protects the skin with ointment, heats up the air within the cup and then quickly places the cup on the skin. (Please note that the cup is not hot when it is applied.) She then either leaves the cups in place or slides them around and along a specific area. The process usually takes between five and ten minutes. |
Gua Sha, or “coining,” is performed with a smooth, round-edged instrument similar to a Chinese porcelain spoon. After applying ointment to the distressed area(s), Christine uses the tool to massage the skin. Gua Sha sessions generally last between one and ten minutes.
Craniosacral Therapy
During a session of this soothing and noninvasive treatment, Christine discovers areas of imbalance and restriction in the spine, skull and sacrum that affect the entire body. She then lightly releases the restricted tissues to stimulate natural healing mechanisms in the body.
Though the actual technique is concentrated on the head, neck and back, craniosacral therapy can be used to identify and correct a number of conditions throughout the body. It also acts as a preventative health measure by boosting immune response and resistance to illness.
Whether used to address a particular condition or for overall health, craniosacral therapy often creates a greater sense of physical, mental and emotional well-being in its recipients.

Visceral Manipulation Therapy
Visceral manipulation therapy uses gentle, noninvasive techniques to encourage the body’s natural healing response, bring healthy function and movement back to the organs and optimize general metabolic functions. The modality is based on the idea that a healthy body is one in which organs are working harmoniously with each other. Injury, illness or displacement can put stress on the organs and cause them to stay in a fixed and rigid position. As the rest of the body tries to accommodate the organs, patients can suffer health problems, pain and inflammation, as well as decreased overall organ function and reduced mobility. |
 |
Visceral manipulation therapy often brings dramatic improvements to the overall well-being of the patient’s mind, body and spirit. Patients also report enhanced postural alignment and reduced muscle tension.

Christine Q. Nguyen
Licensed Acupuncturist, MSOM

Christine Nguyen is a gifted and intuitive healer. She draws on many different modalities to find the most advantageous path to healing. I came to Christine with a long list of complaints and ailments; the worst on the list was a fifteen year fatigue problem. I have seen a dramatic improvement in my energy level. After treatment, I am able to climb twelve stairs carrying a full load of laundry, go on extended shopping excursions, dance for two and a half hours, and enjoy life without tiring. My blood pressure has lowered to a healthy level and my digestion improved. An hour with Christine is worth two as she packs in as many services as possible to achieve the most productive results. I have found Christine to be a very caring and sincere person that I look forward to seeing every week. She shares her knowledge, skill and laughter along with her healing energy. Christine truly has an ancient healing wisdom in her hands. May she be blessed as she continues to bless others.

Christine... what wonderful experiences I have had from your treatments. I was very hesitant to try acupuncture since I don't like needles. Your office and mannerism was very soothing and put me at ease. When you inserted the first needle in my foot, I felt a surge of energy move up and around my body. It was amazing. I have felt the positive changes in my body regarding the things you were focused on treating and more. I would recommend you to anyone looking for help with their energy and health. Thank you.
